Postponed new date sent - Low Carbon Insulation: The Benefits of Wood Fibre - Lunch ‘n’ Learn

Join this 45 minute Lunch 'n' Learn to hear from BE-ST about their wood fibre insulation innovation project and how this sustainable insulation product can help reduce CO2 emissions and reduce the use of natural resources.

What is this session about?

BE-ST (Better Environment - Smarter Transformation) alongside project partners NMITE, Edinburgh University and Napier University have been running a wood fibre insulation innovation project looking at how this sustainable insulation product can help reduce CO2 emissions as well as reducing the use of natural resources.

Kaye Keenan, from BE-ST who has been managing this project, will explain how using this new product can also reduce energy and waste thereby improving circularity of materials in Scotland.

Kaye will explore how wood sourced from sustainably managed forests has many benefits through the product life-cycle compared to alternatives in insulation.

She will share statistics showing its ability to reduce embodied carbon and look at the potential for scaling up given the demands for increasing insulation as part of retrofit and other projects and set out the business case for this.

This is a live online session. We will contact you with joining instructions at least 24 hours before your session starts.

What will we cover?

This Lunch ‘n’ Learn will give you a broad understanding of the sustainability benefits and carbon savings from using wood fibred insulation on projects. It is part of a series of training sessions being run on Decarbonising and Re-use of Materials in Scotland.
