What is this session about?

This 1 hour Lunch 'n' Learn will explore the demands for net zero and decarbonisation increases, given increasing demands on business. This is a great challenge, but also a significant opportunity.

Businesses across the built environment in Scotland will be able to tap into this rapid transition, take on future work and enhance their offering. To do this, they need to be aware of the opportunities available to them, and of the solutions on offer to help them on their way.

There are opportunities for businesses within the built environment sector across Scotland. The construction industry is a major contributor to Scotland’s economy, accounting for 6% of its total GDP. It also employs over 170,000 people, contributing significantly to job creation. These opportunities will change – and will be driven by a move to more sustainable practices and decarbonisation in the move towards net zero.

Industry across Scotland already has a strong emphasis on energy efficiency, green building standards and the use of renewable energy. This is only set to increase as Scotland’s ambitious targets for the reduction of emissions impact construction practices. The construction, and infrastructure industries are set to grow – and sustainability will be central to them. Therefore, businesses must understand the importance of net-zero to this growth, and their future opportunities.

This free, one hour session, delivered virtually, will speak directly to businesses working across Scotland, and give them the opportunity to contribute. We will contact you with joining instructions at least 24 hours before the session starts.

Suitable for anyone with an interest in delivering net zero in the built environment in Scotland including clients, contractors and suppliers at all levels within businesses.
