What is the course about?

“Every single working day in the UK, two construction workers take their own life.” - Lighthouse Club

Suicide is a preventable and avoidable death, and we can all do something to support someone who is at risk. The webinar starts with the alarming statistics around suicide, poor mental health and looks at the impact and cost of suicide. This session, brought to you by Remploy will help you understand where suicide comes from, the complex interplay of biological, psychological, past history and current life events/situations.

This is a live online course. We will contact you with joining instructions at least 24 hours before your course starts.

What will we cover?

We will identify preventable measures for suicide, and you will learn what you can do to support someone who is at risk of suicide. Finally, you will be given resources and support measures to increase your well-being.

What will I achieve?

By the end of this session, you should be able to:

  • Understand key suicide statistics, facts and myths
  • Learn where suicide comes from
  • Respond with preventative measures for suicide
  • Identify and improve interventions and actions in the workplace
  • Increase your well-being and help others with their mental health
