This Initiate Workshop is part of the Introduction to Lean Construction Learning Pathway. 

The Introduction to Lean Construction Learning Pathway has been developed to take you on a journey to build your understanding, knowledge & capability to utilise the associated Lean tools and techniques. The Learning Pathway consists of a Lunch n Learn, E-Learning Module and Workshop. This Learning Pathway will build your confidence so that you can work with others in your organisation to start the improvement cycle.

Please make sure you have attended the Lunch n Learn and completed the E-Learning prior to attending this workshop.

This workshop will aim to give you an understanding of the key Lean tools and techniques and explain how Lean can benefit the construction industry.

On completion of this workshop you will be able to:

• Describe basic principles of Lean, gained from a simulation exercise
• Outline key principles of Lean and Lean-based process improvement
• List examples of Lean tools
• Describe how Lean process improvement could be applied to your existing business processes
• Capture initial ideas for potential improvement projects

Target audience: Anyone within the construction industry or built environment sector, including functions on-site, office based or a supply chain partner, that has an interest in challenging the status quo within their own work area to become more productive in the delivery of their work content. This Learning Pathway is targeted at influential people, not just Leaders or Managers, but anyone that wants to take the first step at making a positive difference that all can benefit from.
