On the 20th October, 2020, the School will publicly launch ‘Offsite for Everyone’.
Offsite for Everyone is a suite of learning materials to guide the construction industry in its adoption of offsite construction and further the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
Why Offsite for Everyone?
Offsite should be a key in any sustainability strategy. Why?
For us to meet the targets set out in the Government’s 2025 Construction Strategy, we need a shift in behaviour and a shift to further offsite methods of construction.
In order to make the change, all who work in the built environment must have a robust understanding of the fundamentals and benefits of offsite construction. Organisations and individuals should look to introduce these methods within their own business or job role.
That’s why we created Offsite for Everyone.
What is Offsite for Everyone and how did it come about?
Offsite for Everyone learning materials include a range of full day courses, virtual courses, e-learning modules and videos – all free for anyone to use. You can view all of these resources here.
In partnership with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) and National Open Colleges Network (NOCN), and with funding from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the School developed learning materials aimed at six different job roles:
Designers and Architects
Quantity Surveyors and Cost Consultants
At our launch, you will:
Understand more about the Offsite for Everyone learning materials and how you can use them
Be a part of our ‘fishbowl’ discussion – hear industry expert panellists talk about how they use offsite construction and the learning materials
Gain an insight into the sustainability benefits of offsite construction - waste and resource efficiency; carbon and climate change; communities and cost, as well as much more
Network with peer organisations
See where your organisation can improve its offsite construction maturity, whether you are new to offsite construction or have used it for years
Be part of the future movement!
