What is this workshop about?

As the drive to have more energy-efficient buildings increases, property owners face the threat of having their assets “stranded” – meaning their buildings are not suitable to rent, or sell as they are not in line with market or regulatory expectations, such as energy efficiency.

To address these risks, attendees will learn the importance of planning for energy efficiency retrofits in order to reduce obsolescence, maintain asset values, reduce risks to income and secure the best terms of finance on the asset.

CBRE’s Valuation and Advisory team will present how the market is increasingly demanding sustainable and energy efficient buildings, and how this is impacting property owners. Insights will be provided from the CBRE Sustainability Index, which tracks value trends based on energy efficiency indicators, showing the relationships within the market. This will provide insights into how the market is interpreting climate risks and occupier requirements, how ignoring these may result in value at risk and conversely how more efficient properties can out-perform.

You'll hear from:

  • Ben Thomas, Senior Director, Valuation and Advisory Services - Industrial & Logistics
  • Sam Carson, Senior Director, Head of Sustainability, Valuations Advisory
  • Charlotte Low, Senior Director, Valuations and Advisory Services - Central London
