What is this session about?

The Supply Chain Sustainability School’s recent ‘Whole life Carbon Guidance for Offsite Construction’ report identified nine significant opportunities for the offsite sector to drive decarbonisation. The report proposes that the ways in which materials are chosen and how designs are optimised can significantly influence whole life carbon impacts.

So where does this leave concrete? Whilst concrete might not be the default ‘green’ material choice, its characteristics make it a vital material in many construction and infrastructure projects.

In this webinar, speakers from Laing O’Rourke’s Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC) will talk about their material research and development as well as the benefits that factory-made components can bring to your projects.

What will I achieve?

  • How to mitigate the carbon impact of concrete
  • Learn about recent innovation in concrete mixes that reduce carbon
  • Understand the benefits of offsite pre-fabrication

Who should attend?

This webinar will be of interest to sustainability professionals, procurement teams, designers, specifiers and suppliers working in the infrastructure and construction sectors.

What are the technical requirements?

You will need:

  • Internet connection
  • A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook)
  • Earphones/headphones/speakers (preferable)
  • A tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone to load facilitation tools
