Simpler Recycling and Digital Waste Tracking: An update - Virtual Conference

A 1-hour 15minute virtual conference on how Simpler Recycling and Digital Waste Tracking requirements will affect you and your organisation.

Digital Waste Tracking becomes a mandatory requirement for all organisations in April 2025. Join this Virtual Conference to understand the process, the risks of non-compliance and the opportunities it presents to enhance the UK's Circular Economy.

What will this session cover?

Join this Virtual Conference to understand the process, timetables and risks from non-compliance, as well as the opportunities these changes will offer to enhance the UK's Circular Economy.

Simpler recycling becomes law for businesses and a wide range of non-domestic premises in England after 31st March 2025.  Businesses and relevant non-domestic premises such as schools, colleges and hospitals in England will need to arrange for segregated collection of core recyclable waste streams.  Separate requirements are already in place for waste segregation in Scotland and Wales.

The launch date for Mandatory Digital Waste Tracking for all organisations across the UK was recently deferred by DEFRA to April 2026, allowing affected parties more time to fully prepare for this major change in policy and legal requirements.

An update is also required on the plans for introduction of a deposit return scheme for drinks containers in England and Northern Ireland.

The headline and technical requirements of all the existing and new systems will be explained by experts from School partner and leading waste and resource management contractor Reconomy. Participants will have opportunity to question the experts, helping to ensure a smooth transition to new ways of working.
