Fit Out, Retrofit and Carbon Savings (Finishes and Interiors) - Webinar
What is this webinar about?
The new UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard sets out metrics to evaluate Net Zero Carbon performance, and this has a significant impact on people from across the built environment, including those in fit-out and interiors.
The fit-out of buildings relates closely to energy-efficient retrofit, as they both open up opportunities to ensure a building continues to be used in a more energy-efficient, and carbon-saving manner.
The way fit-out is done can significantly impact the carbon, materials, and carbon used, and enable the installment of other more energy-efficient technologies in the process.
There is now research and work underway to change the way fit-out is done, with a focus on the “CAT A first” perspective. CAT A fit-out is the basic level of fit-out for a basic space.
Matt Robinson, Head of Sustainability at Ambit will take the audience through the research he has led on the impact CAT A impact has on carbon, cost and materials.
What will I learn?
By attending this session, you will understand:
- How fit out and interiors relates to the retrofit narrative
- The different elements of CAT A and CAT B fit out
- How different versions of CAT A can impact carbon savings
