What is this Business Bytes about?

Retrofit work is expanding across the UK at pace and the extent of work needed is immense. As a result, opportunities for income and growth within Retrofit are becoming widespread and cannot be missed.

The efficiency of our buildings must change to ensure that they are more sustainable. This will improve the wealth and health of people and the planet. It’s not just something we should do as an industry, but with changing regulation and standards, soon will be something we have to do.

The scale and size of the opportunity is broad, so this Business Bytes will examine retrofitting opportunities within the heritage, commercial and domestic settings.

We'll be joined by guest speakers from a range of backgrounds to give their unique insight on retrofit across different sectors:

  • Chris Wright, Project Director, and Emma Gubbins, Sustainability and Social Value Advisor, from Wates Group will shed light on their work in heritage retrofitting, with past projects including the Houses of Parliament informing the discussion.
  • Kim Morgan, Sustainability Director of BW will provide an insight into commercial retrofitting, and the work being asked for in buildings such as offices across London and more.
  • Michelle Nutter, Head of Supply Chain at Irwell Valley Housing Association, and Simon Davies, Sustainability Manager at First Choice Homes Oldham, representing Greater Manchester Housing Providers will share knowledge around domestic retrofitting, specifically in the social housing sphere.

This event will give you a further understanding of what work is out there in retrofit, and enable you to see where you and your business can get involved.
