Wellbeing initiatives for the workplace - Webinar

A 1-hour webinar exploring the importance of wellbeing initiative practices in the workplace for organisations of all sizes

  • The average rate of employee sickness absence (7.8 days per employee), is at the highest level reported for over a decade (CIPD)
  • 76% report stress-related absence - mental health remains the most common focus of wellbeing activity (CIPD)
  • 82% of UK construction workers experience mental health problems due to work-related issues. Two workers take their own lives every day (IGPP)
  • The main benefits of health and wellbeing activity are better employee morale and engagement, a healthier and more inclusive culture and better work-life balance (CIPD)

What is the session about?

It’s never been more important for organisations of all sizes to support employee wellbeing. Mental health issues along with musculoskeletal disorders account for the largest causes of sickness absence in construction, yet Chartered Institute of Building research shows that 56% of construction workers work for organisations with no wellbeing initiatives in place.

An effective workplace wellbeing programme that’s right for your business will help to create an inclusive, supportive culture where individuals can perform to their full potential and feel safe to raise issues of concern at an early stage.

There are also significant business benefits. CIPD research found the key benefits of effective wellbeing programmes are;

  • Better employee morale and engagement, leading to increased performance and decreased employee turnover
  • A healthier and more inclusive culture and significantly less sickness absence
  • Better work-life balance and improved mental health and wellbeing
