What is this session about?

Responding to the challenge of climate change is now front and centre of every organisation’s business strategy – it is no longer a fringe activity. If we are going to truly reduce our carbon emissions in the built environment, we need to design them out from the beginning. 

This intermediate level course will introduce you to the principles and application of designing for low carbon, both for embodied and operational carbon, in buildings and assets. You will gain an understanding of the life cycle stages for carbon, referring to the most commonly used standards, and practising that in exercise activities. It is relevant to those involved in the design, procurement, and construction of buildings and assets

What are the technical requirements?

You will need:

• Internet connection
• A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook)
• Earphones/headphones/speakers (preferable)
• A tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone to load facilitation tools
