Retrofit in Hotels and Hospitality - Lunch 'n' Learn
Event/Workshop
GB
Wednesday, 25 September 2024, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
What is the session about?
The built environment, along with many other industries,
is on the road to net zero. Hotels and the consumer industries occupy millions
of buildings and generate billions in revenue. They are squeezed by inefficient
buildings that have a negative impact on their costs, their carbon emissions
and their working environments.
This session will look at how a buildings energy performance impacts its value
– as well as its running costs and impact on the environment. It will examine
some retrofit projects from hotels and the consumer industry and see the impact
of the works being taken on the assets they own and lease.
You will hear from:
- John Angus, Managing Director at Switch Management
- Eddie McKeever, Managing Director of McKeever Hotels
What will I achieve?
In this session you will learn:
- How an asset's energy performance impacts its value for sale and lease
- How energy inefficiency impacts a business's costs
- How some hotels and businesses have reacted to this and retrofitted
- The work entailed and the opportunities within it
What are the technical requirements?
You will need:
- Internet connection
- A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook)
- Earphones/headphones/speakers (preferable)
- A tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone to load facilitation tools
This session is part of the retrofit programme; the programme is delivered by the School and sponsored by NatWest Group – You can learn more about this here
