What is the session about?

The construction industry, responsible for approximately 40% of global CO₂ emissions, is under pressure to change. There are significant opportunities for those organisations that are willing to take on this challenge, including through a move to regenerative construction. 

Regenerative construction is an emerging framework focusing on restoring and replenishing ecosystems, enhancing social wellbeing, and fostering economic vitality. Success in regenerative construction is reliant on the value chain working together.

This in person, interactive and collaborative workshop, in Partnership with Morgan Sindall, aims to empower your business to embrace regenerative construction principles and take meaningful steps towards sustainability.

• Connect with Welsh Government on delivering net zero, to understand its ambition to being a forest nation, how regenerative construction and nature-based solutions can help on this journey and the role your organisation can play.
• Understand regenerative construction in more detail, the benefits for businesses and opportunities it offers.
• Help shape a research project to identify the blockers and opportunities to mainstream nature-based solutions in construction.
• Explore sustainability challenges to the supply chain, including sustainable material sourcing, energy efficient construction and waste reduction, and identify solutions to these in interactive workshops.
• Collaborate with colleagues from Morgan Sindall and other organisations taking a lead in this area.

Who is this session for?

This session is designed for material suppliers and organisations working in the construction supply chain, who may already be implementing nature based solutions and regenerative construction techniques and want practical steps to take away, or those who are looking to understand how they can introduce these practices to their business model.
