What is the session about?

A 2-hour virtual conference to discuss sustainable procurement, a look at where we are today and how organisations at varying maturity levels can progress their efforts, discussing common challenges and offering insights on how to overcome these.

Sustainable procurement initiatives are becoming increasingly prevalent as more organisations recognise their role in achieving sustainability objectives. However, many organisations still struggle to effectively embed sustainability into their procurement strategies and processes. Common challenges range from not knowing where to start to ensuring sustainable procurement does not come at an additional cost and getting SME suppliers on board.

This conference will cover the main findings from Action Sustainability’s upcoming ‘Sustainable Procurement Progression Report 2023’. This report will analyse sustainable procurement maturity across and within industries and explore a range of approaches to key challenges using case studies and insights gained from ISO 20400 evaluations.

What level is the session, and do I need any particular skills?

This session is aimed at those who are responsible for implementing and driving sustainable procurement within their organisations, both from a central sustainability perspective as within the procurement function. As this session revolves around how to progress on your Sustainable Procurement journey, it will provide insights for both those at the start as well as those that want to become best practice.

What can I expect from this training?

Virtual Conferences are multi-speaker sessions featuring experts from the sector, around 2 hours to give you a more in-depth overview of the subject.

What are the technical requirements?

You will need:

• An internet connection
• Earphones/headphones/speakers (preferable)
• A tablet/iPad/smartphone/iPhone to load facilitation tool

What are the attendance requirements? 

Please arrive promptly and stay for the duration. This means arriving no later than 10 minutes to the session and attending the full 2 hours.  

To receive your CPD accreditation and for this to be tracked through your Supply Chain Sustainability School dashboard make sure your full name is reflected on your Zoom account when you join the session.  

Please note, if you fail to meet the attendance requirements, unfortunately you will not be issued a CPD Certificate.
