Climate Adaptation in Scotland Lunch 'N' Learn - with NatureScot

This 1 hour Lunch n Learn on Climate Adapation will give an overview of the key principles of adaptation.

What is the session about?

Although climate prevention is the priority in tackling climate change, we are already experiencing its effect, therefore must adapt to the impacts of climate change. This session will provide you with an overview of the risk and opportunities on site for the construction sector as a result of rising global temperatures.

It will particularly focus on the short-term impacts - some of which are already happening and others which will impact construction sites in the next 5 years - and explore what this means for construction works and what you can do to combat and control this.

Martin Faulkener, Project and Funding Officer, Green Infrastructure, NatureScot will explore the challenges and opportunities of Climate Adaptation in the context of Scotland and the role of the built environment sector, giving an overview on how to act on adaptation principles and measure progress. He will highlight future climate projections and outcomes, anticipating the extent of the impact of these changes in Scotland. Considering how how we need to adapt he will discuss green and blue solutions, how we can protect nature and wildlife and by sharing good practise examples and learning from built environment projects.

What will I achieve?
