Event/Workshop
GB
Tuesday, 20 February 2024, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
What is the Conference about?
The government has outlined plans to introduce a UK-wide mandatory digital waste tracking system from 2025. This will make it easy to track waste and resources, using a waste tracking service that is simple to use and provides value for all users.
The built environment is one of the largest producers of waste. It uses half of the materials extracted, is responsible for one-third of global waste and accounts for approximately 39% of global energy-related CO2 emissions. The benefits of reducing and managing waste are numerous and can contribute towards enhancing the industry’s sustainability and profitability. Tracking construction and operational waste can help reduce its generation, improve its disposal, and increase its reuse and recycling potential. This conference will look at some of the innovative ways waste is being managed and some of the digital tools in use. It will encourage attendees to think beyond the basics of compliance to the opportunities of managing real-time data on an issue that costs the sector millions every year.
