Reducing and rethinking packaging is one of the biggest waste and resource efficiency challenges we face. Achieving cost reduction and fitness for purpose in the face of policy changes such as the imminent Plastic Packaging Tax and other Government-led packaging waste reforms will challenge suppliers and customers in the built environment supply chain like never before.

This event is for anyone who wants to know more, no matter what your current knowledge level.  By participating you will:

·       Hear how some of our leading School Housebuilding Partners, Bellway, Taylor Wimpey and Barratt, along with Zero Waste Scotland and Packaging compliance experts Valpak, have been working together with the School on a collaborative project to better understand the flows of packaging to sites

·       Hear from innovative suppliers large and small including Marshalls, Michelmersh, Onsite Support and social enterprise Paint 360 about the art of the possible in taking a more sustainable approach to packaging

·       Have the opportunity to participate in audience polls and direct questions to the panel and speakers.

The event will be chaired by Matt Nichols, Divisional Director of Reconomy and Chair of the School’s Waste and Resource Use Group.  Panellists will include Adrian Hill, Group Head of Procurement for Bellway Homes, Ian Heasman, Director of Sustainability for Taylor Wimpey and Stephen Boyle, Strategic Programme Manager for Zero Waste Scotland and more.
