Future Homes Task Force - Business Bytes

What is the session about?

Join this session with Barratt Developments, Telford Homes, Thakeham Group, Places for People and Broadway Initiative to hear about the key elements of the Future Homes Delivery Plan and Hub, and understand how this will impact your organisation. 

Between September 2020 and June 2021, the Future Homes Task Force brought together representatives from the homebuilding sector, government, regulators and stakeholder groups to oversee the development of an industry-led strategic plan commensurate with the challenge of building new homes at the scale needed, in line with our climate, environment and wider sustainability goals.

The result of the Task Force was launched in July 2021 - a Future Homes Delivery Plan to help the sector meet these targets, while building high quality homes and places for now and future generations. The Future Homes Hub will be launched in the autumn, to support the sector in meeting the Future Homes Standard and implementing the Delivery Plan.


What will I achieve?

At this event you will:

  • Learn about the Task Force’s commitments, delivery plan and hub, and the implications for the value chain
  • Hear insights from our panel of experts on the challenges and opportunities for the supply chain around embodied carbon and construction methods that are net zero; low carbon placemaking; infrastructure smart systems and energy; and ensuring businesses operations are in line with the Race to Zero
  • Have an opportunity to ask questions to our panel, including representatives from Barratt Developments, Telford Homes, Thakeham, Places for People and the Broadway Initiative


What level is the session and do I need any particular skills?
This session is suitable for anyone who works in the housebuilding sector, from across the value chain, from a variety of job roles including procurement, commercial, technical and sustainability. 


What can I expect from a Business Bytes?

Business Bytes are multi-speaker sessions featuring experts from the sector, around 1.5 hours to give you a more in-depth overview of the subject.
