Net Zero & Carbon Offsetting - Lunch 'n' Learn

A 1 hour introductory Lunch 'n' Learn to explore the concept of 'net zero carbon' and investigate ways in which your organisation can achieve zero carbon emissions. This Lunch 'n' Learn will be delivered virtually. See the ‘what is the session about?’ section for more details below.     

What is the session about?

This session will explore the concept of 'net zero carbon' and investigate ways in which your organisation can achieve zero carbon emissions. We will explore carbon reduction strategies including carbon offsets and net zero.


What will I achieve?

During this session we will cover:

  • The basis for net zero: UK Climate Change Act, the Paris Climate Change Agreement, and the IPCC 1.5C report
  • What ‘net zero’ means
  • How your organisation can achieve net zero
  • How to report on your carbon reduction activities


What level is the session and do I need any particular skills?

This session is aimed at beginner level, for those who want to get a basic understanding of what net zero means and what your organisation can do to achieve it.


What can I expect from a Lunch 'n' Learn?

Lunch 'n' Learns offer a quick introduction to a topic, or present a case study, 45-60 mins to fit around your busy schedule.


What are the technical requirements?

You will need:

  • Internet connection
  • A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook)
  • Earphones/headphones/speakers (preferable)
  • A tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone to load facilitation tools
