What is the workshop about?

The National Highways Regional Delivery Partnership (RDP) initiative is providing targeted training and sustainability knowledge to the RDP supply chain across England, working closely with several Delivery Integration Partners (DIPs).

The RDP initiative is free to all suppliers/sub-contractors and includes:

  • Sustainability Performance measuring and continuous improvement using the Supply Chain School's Sustainability Tool
  • Supplier Events: Training Workshops and Supply Chain Webinars highlight best practice and expected standards
  • Access to online curated and blended National Highways "Learning Pathways"

This workshop will explore the concept of 'net zero carbon and cover the essentials of reporting your carbon performance.

What will I achieve?

This workshop will look at the basis for net zero, including the UK Climate Change Act, the Paris Climate Change Agreement and the IPCC 1.5C report. Practical actions will be outlined, showing you how your organisation can work towards achieving net zero and how to report on your carbon reduction activities.

This workshop will also cover the essentials of reporting your carbon performance, including how your organisation should respond to a request from a client about your carbon footprint.

Participants will understand the scale of the issue, and where priorities lie through the capture and analysis of data. You will learn how carbon data is accounted and allocated for the purpose of reporting.

What can I expect from a Workshop?

Workshops are interactive training with audience participation to give you a firmer understanding of how you can implement change in your business. They take around 2-3 hours with around 20 other participants.

You may be required to use variety of facilitation tools, such as MentiMeter, Jamboard and Mural which will help you and the trainer get real-time input. You will be given clear instructions on how to use these within the workshop.
