Menopause Awareness in the Workplace (HS2) - webinar
This session is aimed specifically at current and prospective suppliers to the HS2 project.
This 1-hour webinar is designed for EVERYONE in the workforce - not just for women. In fact, we are actively encouraging men to attend!
What is this session about?
The webinar will enable you to start the conversation around menopause, talk honestly and openly about the challenges menopause presents and the positive affect that taking steps to tackle these issues can have on your business.
Every woman goes through Menopause, so it is an issue affecting a large proportion of the workforce. However, it is still considered a taboo subject by many businesses. Women comprise approximately half (47%) of the UK's workforce and almost 20% of these leave the workplace due to perimenopausal or menopause symptoms. That figure is higher in male dominated industries like the built environment.
With the majority of businesses failing to offer employees support to deal with menopause, we are losing skilled workers and subsequently further reducing diversity, especially at management and senior management level
What will I achieve?
By attending this session, you will:
- Understand what menopause is and the difference between menopause and perimenopause - the causes, symptoms, range and longevity. It's more than just hot flushes!
- Understand why menopause is a workplace issue
- Discover what to do if these symptoms are familiar to you
- Discover how workplaces can support women experiencing menopausal symptoms
- Understand what to do at work if you are a colleague, friend or line manager
- Take away 2 things can you do personally going forward
Who will I hear from?
We are joined by two experts on Menopause and how it impacts the individual, colleagues and wider workforce:
Tamzin Hall – A highly experienced business coach, Tamzin is founder of The Neurodiversity Academy and provides a range of leadership skills training services
Nicola Piper – Clinical Operations Manager for EKFB. Nicola works for PAM Group, a leading Occupational Health and wellbeing services provider
