The Supply Chain School is partnering with BE-ST, Built Environment - Smart Transformation to organise this webinar which will demonstrate the expertise in Scotland for designing and constructing low carbon public buildings.

What is this about?

It will also present the substantial environmental and health benefits of delivering community assets to the highest possible quality standards.

This webinar will update the supply chain on the growing use of the Passivhaus whole-building approach on larger buildings such as Schools  – and the linkages between Passivhaus and the requirements of the Net Zero Public Sector Buildings (NZPSB) Standard.

Passivhaus and other standards are being mapped into the requirements of the NZPSB Standard and there are strong formal overlaps on Operational Energy Targets and aspects of Indoor Environmental Quality.

There is an opportunity to for other requirements of the NZPSB to be delivered on Passivhaus projects, such as Construction Embodied Carbon, Other Whole Life Carbon, VOCs and Particulate Matter.

We will be joined by organisations including:

·        Passivhaus Trust

·        Scottish Futures Trust

·        Robertson Group

·        Built Environment-Smarter Transformation (BE-ST) – formerly the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre

·        Designer / Architect specialising in Passivhaus

·        Zero Waste Scotland

·        Perth & Kinross Council (tbc)

What will I achieve?

  • Learn about the principles of Passivhaus and how Passivhaus can reduce carbon emissions from buildings whilst providing high levels of occupant comfort using very little energy for heating and cooling.
  • Understand the principles of the Net Zero Public Sector Buildings Standards (NZPSBS) – a voluntary standard supporting public bodies to meet their net zero commitments for their new build and major refurbished infrastructure projects.
  • Learn how to design and build to both the Passivhaus and NZPSBS for your new build or refurbishment / retrofit projects
  • Learn how higher building standards can play a key role in achieving Scotland’s Net Zero 2045 target.
