This session is one of a series of webinars and workshops being provided for Sizewell C as part of its Supplier Development Programme.

What is the session about?

This session will explore the concept of 'net zero carbon' and investigate ways in which your organisation can achieve zero carbon emissions. We will explore carbon reduction strategies including carbon offsets and net zero. During this workshop we will also look at what Science Based Targets (SBTs) are.

What will I achieve?

During this session we will cover:

• The basis for net zero: UK Climate Change Act, the Paris Climate Change Agreement, and the IPCC 1.5C report
• What ‘net zero’ means
• How your organisation can achieve net zero
• How to report on your carbon reduction activities
• Understand what Science Based Targets are and why they are important
• Know how your organisation can commit to a Science Based Target, develop it and then submit it.
  
  

What level is the session and do I need any particular skills?

This session is aimed at beginner/intermediate level - for those who already have a basic understanding of what net zero means and what your organisation can do to achieve it.

What are the attendance requirements?

Please arrive promptly and stay for the duration of the event.

To receive your CPD accreditation and for this to be tracked through your Supply Chain Sustainability School dashboard make sure your full name is reflected on your Zoom account when you join the session.  

Please note, if you fail to meet the attendance requirements, unfortunately you will not be issued a CPD Certificate.

What are the technical requirements?

You will need:

• Internet connection
• A computer with microphone and camera is best (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook)
• Earphones/headphones/speakers (preferable)
• A tablet/iPad/smart phone/iPhone to load facilitation tools
