Designing out Waste (Sizewell C) - Workshop
This session is one of a series of webinars and workshops being provided for Sizewell C as part of its Supplier Development Programme.
What is the session about?
Designing out waste can help project teams across several organisations reduce the environmental impact of construction at every stage of the build project; from design, to procurement through to end of life deconstruction. Being proactive at the earliest stage of any project enables the best use of materials, resources and energy during construction and over the lifecycle of built assets. Introducing circular economy methodology can also help reduce waste and overall construction costs.
This workshop will explore the true cost of waste, as well as available waste measurement and reduction tools.
What will I achieve?
- Understand the circular economy and the drivers for designing out waste
- Be aware of opportunities to design out waste in development
- Be able to articulate the challenges and opportunities to colleagues, customers and supply chain in preparation for future design and build stages
What level is the session and do I need any particular skills?
This is a beginner level session, so suitable for anyone working in the built environment sector looking for an entry level introduction to the topic.
