Black History Month: Power & Pride - Webinar

Hear how two Black women sparked a movement that started local and is now international to create safe spaces for and empower Black employees.

What is the session about?

In celebration of Black History Month, join us for an inspiring and practical session exploring how to create communities and safe spaces that empower Black employees to thrive at work.

Meet Retired Sgt Sandra Smith, Founder of the WoCiPBCH Movement, and Sam Alexander, both Directors of WoCiPCIC (Women of Colour in Public Service CIC) An organisation that began as Women of Colour in Policing within Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Police. Through their dedication and hard work, WoCiPCIC has grown beyond its local roots and now has a powerful impact across the UK and globally.

In a fireside chat with Dana James-Edwards, Head of FIR, Sandra and Sam will share honest insights into why the group was founded, what worked (and what didn’t), what they learned along the way, and the challenges they overcame to build an inclusive and impactful platform for connection and action. Discover the lessons we can apply as we strive to do the same in the construction and built environment industry.
