What will this session cover?

The Future Homes Standard is likely to be the most dramatic change in the building regulations for sustainable design since their beginning. This session will give you the perfect introduction to what we know so far about the Future Homes Standard. We’ll look at the challenges the country faces as it phases out gas, and why heat pumps and not boilers will be centre stage in the transition away from fossil fuels. We’ll take a look at the regulations we have so far and how they’ve already evolved to promote low energy demand, electrified homes. We’ll explore what we know about the Home Energy Model, the much more detailed new tool for assessing compliance with the building regulations and issuing EPCs. You'll walk away with everything you need to know to design and build a compliant, future-proof, and net-zero-ready building from 2025.

Learn how we’ll transition away from fossil fuel boilers and importance of heat pumps, energy saving design and local generation. You’ll leave equipped with all you need to know to design and specify a compliant, future proof and net zero ready build.
